HTC Touch Diamond2 : My look at it
In DevicesTo begin with, I want to say, this phone is really awesome, I have been using this now for about 10 months, I really enjoyed my time with it. It is what I call a phone with complete features. Before my purchase, I compared many phones, but this phone appeared to have almost or all the features and was worth its price. It had all the features one would like to have in a Smartphone, 5mp Camera, Radio, G-sensor, GPS, Video-call Camera and the option to extend functionality with several apps out there.
Main features of the phone are, the nice sleek 3.2″ WVGA display, 5mp camera, 3G capability and the HTC Sense. HTC Sense really changes the way you can use your phone. The Sense is so much integrated into the core of the system, you realize you use less of Windows’ original functionality. I rarely or never use the stylus, the Sense makes the UI so much finger friendly, and with the arrival of Windows Mobile 6.5.x, things have been more fun to touch with.
I have had a great experience using this phone so far, but there also have been some minor glitches, which didn’t bother much expect paying a visit to the boring HTC care centre. Due to some touch in-functionality I replaced my touch digitizer, but the new one bought a new problem along with it, the problem of dust entering below the screen. I got it cleaned roughly around for 2 times, but I think I must get the touch digitizer replaced. The Diamond2 build is also poor, touch screen prone to finger prints and the battery cover prone to scratches easily.
The phone has a fair battery life, good standby time, could have been better. Sound quality is average and is fine for me. Browsing experience is enhanced by the Opera family of browsers. Sense works awesome for viewing texts and emails, flipping through pictures, glancing through videos; integration of HTC Peep for tweeting, the stocks tab, footprints, favorite people, etc.
Overall, the powerful hardware with Qualcomm 528MHz and 288MB Ram let’s you have a wonderful experience with the HTC Sense.
